About us page

Hello and welcome to the 4C Community Centre!

We are located in the grounds of Christ Church in Waterloo, Ashton-under-Lyne and the centre is a sustainable, purpose-built facility designed to serve all ages.

Christ Church Community Developments was established in 2006 and building work started on site in 2012 with thanks to various funders such as individual supporters, The National Lottery Big Lottery Fund and Social Investment Business.

Whilst the shell of the centre was built it was almost a further 10 years until the building had been completely finished and was ready to open. Thanks to volunteers who worked tirelessly building walls, putting carpet down and painting walls, we managed to open the centre on the 5th July 2021!

We are a thriving community centre that boasts a large hall and various sized meeting rooms, all available for hire. We are also home to The Potters Hand Creative Crafts – a fantastic pottery studio that offers daily pottery painting, a monthly bubbles and brushes night and various workshops throughout the year. Head to their page to read more about them and how you can get involved. Another little business we are home to is The Little Bun Tearoom – a lovely little cafe where you can expect a breakfast to get you started for the day, healthy choices such as jacket potatoes and salads to hearty warmers such as homemade pies, curries and soups. They also have a fantastic selection of freshly baked bread, teacakes and scones and a delectable selection of cakes and cream cakes. Head to their page to read more about them.
